1.Draw your groundplan
Enter your stage dimensions. Add scenery from the library or draw your own custom pieces.
2.Check the design in 3D
See the height and spacing of your scenery, and inspect the view from the audience.
3.Prepare for the show
Arrange sets in running order, share the design and export plans and paperwork for the crew.
Your stage and audience
Design for the space you have
Choose proscenium, end-on, thrust, in the round or traverse. Enter your stage dimensions and arrange the seating banks to suit your venue.
Select a stage form to see how the playing area and audience positions change.
The stage projects into the audience, with seating on three sides of the projection.
Check the audience’s view
Choose a position along a seating bank and inspect the view. Try moving the tall flat, then compare the plan with the 3D model.
Plan and sightlines
Loading the model
Green blocks show seating banks. The red dot is your selected position; red shading marks floor hidden from it. You can also drag the model to look around.
This example uses estimated seating. Enter measured bank positions in your production for a closer match to your venue. The sightline check uses simplified geometry, a fixed eye height and sampled bank positions. Use it as a design aid alongside checks in the room.
Set changes
Plan the set changes
Setplot compares two sets and creates a shift plot: a list of what moves, what leaves the stage and what comes on. Use it to plan the crew’s work during each change.
Explore sets and set changesLighting
Add lighting to the same plan
Place and aim your lights, choose their color and set their brightness for each set. Check scenery and lighting together in the 3D model.
Explore lighting designChoose a set to see the change in 3D. Drag to look around, or switch the lighting off to inspect the scenery.

More than one venue
Adjust the layout for another stage
Taking the show to a smaller room? Give that venue its own layout, then move scenery to suit it. The original venue keeps its positions, and each venue’s model and paperwork use its own layout.
The fireplace extends past the edge of the smaller stage. Try moving it in for this venue.
Exports
Export your plans and paperwork
Print drawings to scale as PDFs, or use PNG and SVG files in a program or presentation. Export tables as CSV: the channel hookup lists the lighting channels, and the shift plot lists the scenery changes for the crew.
The inventory lists the pieces you need to build, borrow or buy. A chair used in several sets is counted once.
Every new export reflects the current design. Export again after changes, or send a view-only share link so the team can open the current production.

Common questions
- Yes. No card and no trial clock. A free account includes three active productions, two venues per production, unlimited sets, lighting, the 3D model, view-only share links and standard exports with a Setplot credit on drawn sheets. A Production Pass or Pro adds invited collaborators, unlimited venues and MVR. Pro also includes version history and the activity record.
- Only the production owner needs a paid plan or Production Pass. Invited collaborators join with a free account and the editing or viewing permissions you give them.
- Reaching the limit does not delete a production. Archive a finished show to make room for another; you can still read the archived show. Or buy a Production Pass for the new production, which will not count toward the limit.
- Yes. Organization plans bill annually against an invoice or a purchase order, education pricing takes 50% off, and we will fill in whatever your finance office needs.
