This page describes what we collect when you use Setplot, why we collect it, and what happens to it.

What we collect

Your account: a name, an email address and a password, which is stored hashed. Your work: the productions, plans and settings you create. Billing: payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number. Support: any email you send us.

Analytics

We use Fathom Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and identifies nobody. We can see which pages are read, not who reads them.

Advertising

If you arrive here by clicking one of our ads, we record which ad brought you, so we can see which ads are worth paying for. For Reddit ads, we tell Reddit that the click led to an account or a payment: what we send is your email address put through a one-way hash, which Reddit can compare against its own records but cannot read, together with the click identifier Reddit itself added to the link. For Google ads, Google's own tag runs on our public pages and on the sign-up page, sets its own cookies there, and tells Google when a sign-up happens; we also keep the click identifier Google added to the link, so that we can later tell it whether that sign-up became a paid subscription. We never send Google your name or your email address. Nothing is sent to either company about anyone who did not arrive from one of our ads. We build no profile of you, and Setplot shows you no ads.

What we use it for

Running the service, billing you correctly, answering when you write to us, and telling you about things that affect your account. We do not sell your data, and we do not show advertising.

Who else is involved

A small number of services help us run Setplot: hosting, payment processing and email delivery. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your data for anything else.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your data, apart from records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@setplot.app.
